Acme, Zenith and Summit – The Hierarchy Towers (Freepik) What the people are within, the buildings express without.
Louis Sullivan, American Architect
. . .
Stand do they at heights astounding,
With cloud covered ceiling and traffic abounding.
Hierarchy Towers what’s more to tell?
It’s occupancy rivals Hilbert’s Hotel!
Within its halls our duty, we conduct.
A function of birth and product of luck.
Hierarchy’s design is forever meant
To favour the vertiginous resident.
Opulence rises with elevation;
Lowly inhabitants, shudder at the revelation.
Stairs and elevators exist in short supply,
Oft’ those of lowly birth on that very floor, die.
Those birthed on the ground floor of Hierarchy,
Who wish to ascend to a better day,
To leave behind fate’s bitter treachery,
The stairway is the only way!
