On being a good ancestor…

Jonas Salk (Photographed in 1959)

Our greatest responsibility is to be good ancestors.

Jonas Salk, American Virologist who developed one of the first successful Polio Vaccines

. . .

When I die, which soon I will,

Let memory serve me well.

After death residing still,

In heaven not in hell.

This heaven’s paved by mental quill,

On minds that choose to dwell

Upon the dead now lying still,

Forgotten not in hell.

.

In Jonas Salk‘s hope, I see,

Life’s calling out to me.

His hope for life, I now treasure:

“Be thou, a good ancestor!”
